Health Directive for Coastal Digestive Health patients

With the borders reopening, we are making every effort to ensure the safety of our patients and employees at Coastal Digestive Health.
(17th December 2021)

Please read these requirements carefully.

Face masks:
In an effort to protect our vulnerable patients and staff we are implementing a mandatory mask wearing policy. We request that face masks be fitted prior to entering the practice and that they be worn at all times whilst you are on the premises, in keeping with the Public Health Advice.
Please phone us to seek further advice if you are affected by this.

COVID-19 Vaccination status:
You will be requested by reception to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) via the MyGov App, Check In Qld App or a printed copy of your vaccination status from Medicare.
If you can not provide proof of vaccination or are not fully vaccinated, please do not enter the premises and phone reception to receive further advice.
Unvaccinated patients will be offered a telephone consultation, unless previous approval has been granted for a face-to-face appointment. Unvaccinated patients attending a physical appointment are required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the appointment.

Symptomatic Patients (Vaccinated, unvaccinated or children):
If you have any respiratory, cold or flu-like symptoms, you must not attend the premises (regardless of vaccination status) – you must obtain a COVID-19 PCR test and receive a negative result before attending the practice in person. If you are symptomatic, please seek phone advice on booking a telephone/video consultation.

Paediatric Appointments:
There will be some restrictions for unvaccinated parents, carers and guardians accompanying a child or young person. These include:
• Only one unvaccinated parent, carer or guardian can accompany a child or young person to an appointment.
• An accompanying unvaccinated parent, carer or guardian must wear a single-use surgical face mask and will be required to limit their movements to areas where they can safely physically distance from others.
• The unvaccinated accompanying parent, carer or guardian must have a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entering the premises.

Hospital Admissions for Elective Procedures (colonoscopy, gastroscopy, or infusions):
As these guidelines vary between hospitals and will change according to the current COVID-19 situation we advise patients to contact your admitting hospital to get further information regarding their latest directives.
Currently all hospitals have restricted access to unvaccinated visitors. All patients are required to have a negative COVID-19 RAT test within 24 hours prior to admission.  The hospital may be able to provide a RAT test on arrival for a small cost.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding regarding this health advice and helping us care for the greater community.
