Benefits of Clinical Trials
A number of staff members from Coastal Digestive are engaged in delivering high-quality clinical research into new investigotheral medicines at our research centre at Maroochydore. Together we hope to contribute to improvements in the clinical management and outcomes for people with gastrointestinal conditions.
Benefit of Clinical Trials:
Opportunity to access newest interventions, that may be better for your condition, before they are made available to the general public.
Opportunity to play an active role in your own health care and gain a greater understanding of your disease or condition.
Advice, care and support from trained clinical staff that understand your disease or condition.
Closer monitoring of your condition, care and treatment.
Professional care in a private practice setting with no additional cost to the enrolled patients.
Clinical trials are often a valuable option for people with rare or difficult-to-treat conditions for which there may be limited options of how the condition can be treated or managed, and when all existing treatment options for a person’s condition have been exhausted.
NB. There is no guarantee that any individual participant will receive any direct benefit from taking part in a trial.
Our objectives are:
To offer the general community access to collaborative, high-quality multidisciplinary projects with clinical relevance for people suffering from gastrointestinal conditions.
To strengthen partnerships with consumers, carers and non-government organisations in developing research projects and protocols.
